Digital Strategy - Tipperary

Digital Strategy for Co Tipperary – Tipperary County Council’s project brief stated that it wished to “build on the competitive advantage afforded to the County by its location and accessibility to High Speed Communications Networks such that is being developed under the National Broadband Plan (NBP) through the development and implementation of a Digital Strategy. This strategy would identify the role that broadband can play in the future economic and social development of the County and also the role that Local Authorities and relevant stakeholders can play to facilitate this development. 

Market Dynamics was awarded the tender to develop the strategy. The project involved a very comprehensive research project involving surveys, interviews and focus groups/workshops. Input was obtained from almost 1,000 people, including those involved in business, education and training, community organisations, industry representative bodies as well as ordinary citizens.
The project involved the drawing up of objectives along with actions to be implemented over the five-year lifetime of the strategy. Feedback from Tipperary County Council suggests that their Digital Strategy is among the best that have been conducted thus far in Ireland.
